He could burn you down down down

The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don't go back to sleep.
You must ask for what you really want.
Don't go back to sleep.
People are going back and forth across the doorsill
where the two worlds touch.
The door is round and open.
Don't go back to sleep.

Jaejoong hates thin ice. When he puts on his skates (that he has long abandoned - it has been roughly six years since he last skated; he was still good then), he shakes his head, mumbles too tight under his breath. It’s white and he comes to a conclusion that he should buy a new pair, maybe black this time around (if ever he’d go skating again; he does not fancy falling). He braves the makeshift rink Junsu made in his backyard. The ice is all messed up, Junsu calls out to him and he slips, falls and sees water right through. Is this thing safe? Apparently not, but he asks anyway. He has a hard time getting up. He doesn’t even try to. No. The cool air gets to him - he’s freezing.

Isn’t it hard being in the cold all the time? Junsu teaches kids figure skating but can never keep him from falling. Nah. Junsu chuckles, extends a hand so that he could get up. Sunshine spills on Junsu’s skin. All you need is fire, Junsu’s index finger is on his temples, water, slips and rests on his lips, and air, goes further down and stops on his chest. His breathing hitches and he feels himself slipping, so he holds onto Junsu’s hand tightly. They fall on thin ice.

Junsu’s arms are on his sides, heart against heart and lips on each other’s. He catches his breath through shaking lips, Junsu’s smile not making things any easier. We could drown. He hears the ice beneath him break slowly. Junsu chuckles. They could die of hypothermia. Just maybe. We would.

They do.
