Too long ago in his life to remember, but Changmin imagines this must be what it's like to see for the very first time, to recognize and wonder and want to remember, the instinct so visceral, an instinct all nature. Changmin watches the skin change color under his touch, hues shifting from deep cream to pale red, the stain running to Jaejoong's mouth, the fall of it as he cries out, the tremble of his lashes, the sweat at his temple. After so long without, the sight of Jaejoong feels new and the thought overwhelms him. Because he's dreamed this moment for two years now. He wonders how it could possibly be new.
He wonders how he forgot.
Reaching out to cup the back of Jaejoong's head with some idea to learn him again, to imprint Jaejoong deep. Eyes closed, he feels cropped ends of hair tickle against his palms as he runs them up and over. He thumbs at the ridge of his brows, the soft skin under Jaejoong's eyes, beautiful eyes, and across his cheekbones. The beat of Jaejoong's heart against his chest and it's been so long, too long. He doesn't realize he's crying until Jaejoong's lips press wetly against his cheek.
“What's wrong?”
“I think I forgot you,” he whispers. “It's only been two years. How could I forget you?”
Jaejoong doesn't answer, only rolls them over to settle between Changmin's legs and uses his hands and his mouth and his love to push inside Changmin, deep, until he has no choice but learn him all over again. Removes the layers of time until Changmin remembers how it begins; a missed call, a picture face down, a face that is similar enough, kisses almost as sweet.
And how it ends.
Changmin's eyes flying open, Jaejoong's name on his lips, repeating, the only sound he knows, the only thing he needs.
