[REPORT] 4th Album Showcase Fan Account

Sep 22, 2008 00:43

Basically, DBSK’s fourth album showcase made my life. It was totally worth nine hours of waiting and a bad sunburn for two hours of awesome!

EDIT: Fancams and more pictures added! :D

PRE-CONCERT, OR DBSK FANS BRING THE LULZ

I got to Seoul City Hall Plaza around 10 a.m. and almost had a heart attack. The venue was already filled down the middle (aka the prime spots) with fans, leaving only the way back and sides. So after buying a mini-tarp-sun-reflector thing, I managed to find a spot in the front half of the circle that wasn’t terribly far to the side. Score!

10 in the morning and already this packed. :O

...8 hours later, it's a sea of heads lolol

The rest of the lj gang were meeting up at 2 p.m., so I had about four hours to waste and limited Korean language ability to help me make conversation. I have to say, though, this showcase made me really like Cassiopeia. This was my first experience with them, but they were so sweet and friendly, and sometimes surprisingly mature. For example, after the concert was over, everyone stayed a bit to pick up their trash and leave it in neat piles outside the grass area. I mean, I was all ready to leave that gross tarp there, but these girls were really nice, not just picking up their own trash but other people’s too! That’s a win in my book. :D Also, they actually didn’t bring balloons like the management asked, and so many fans were just chatting to the security guards and having fun. SHOCKING RIGHT. We read so much negative stuff about Cassiopeia, and while I’m sure there is truth to that, it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside to know that that’s not always the case. There were a lot of middle/high schoolers, but there were also quite a number of girls in their 20’s, and even some ajummas here and there.

Anyway, back to pre-concert shenanigans! All I have to say is that Cassiopeia are really entertaining. Observe:

Everyone was taking pictures with/of these girls, it was totally like THIS IS THE CLOSEST WE'LL EVER BE TO TOUCHING THEM. Changmin and Yoochun came later, and then they really caused havoc. Because then the fans did fanservice, with:

Yunjae!

Yoosu!

Even after repeated broken English explanations, I had no idea who this girl was supposed to be.

Nor this girl, who was with the DBSK mask group, but it's ok because ahahahaha!

The cutest DBSK fan in existence!!

How adorable is this fan+crazy homemade sign? TOO ADORABLE THAT'S WHAT

It was a kind of slow-going for the first two hours because everyone was dying from the sun, but then they started showing all of DBSK’s music videos from newest to oldest and everyone went crazy. It was hilarious because they screamed their heads off and did the chants as if the boys were actually there, lol. Also-every time they played the teaser (which was about a million times), everyone freaked out. Good times! I got this on video too, just because it was too ace not to. BTW, this is the new fanchant -- possibly the best one ever!! So when the boys sing, "I make you crazy" the fans go "I'M CRAZY!!!!", etc.

I talked to a lot of sweet fans (a bunch of them offered me their food, and one girl brought two huge boxes of water bottles to hand out ;;), was given a ton of fan café business cards, and bought ridiculous goods like Yoochun socks. And a Yoosu pin. Just because, dude, who wouldn’t? XD

Finally, at two, coyotecolored. mrskimj_j, and Emily (I forgot to ask about her lj name D:) arrived en masse and saved me from dying of language non-comprehension.

Next came my favorite part of the pre-concert activities: a dance contest between fangirls. I-I don’t even have words to describe it. Why don’t you watch this video instead.

After that was more waiting, cursing frozen water bottles for not melting fast enough (really not cool :| ), and then finally, finally, it was seven o’clock, and our boys were ready to take back the Korean stage.

(Actually, it started about 10 minutes late and everyone was restlessly singing along to “Purple Line” at seven, but that doesn’t sound as dramatic.)

THE CONCERT, OR ASDOHIFAOSDHFASO;HF;OSDHFAOSDHF;AOSHF;ASOIHFOSIAHF;OIASHDFOIASHDF;LKSDHFAIOSDHFOIASHFOHSA;FOHA;SODFOASDHFAOSDFHOASIFH

The boys started with “Rising Sun” in hot black suits, which was slightly ruined by the fact that about 30 seconds into the song, everyone in the front half section freaked out and mass pressed forward, which caused pandemonium as security guards screamed at us and people lost bags. Things were fine after that (albeit uncomfortable and squished), and everyone sat back down. Aaaaand we had moved up and more towards the middle during the rush, which was fab. :D

This is a craptastic picture, but just to give you an idea of my view. :D

After that, there were introductions (Boom was the host!), and then Chun proceeded to introduce the members’, uh…charms? Outfit concepts? idk, the only thing that registered from this talking section was the YOOSU (they deserve all caps, ok) and Chun trying to unbutton Junsu’s shirt. I managed to record a shaky fancam while hyperventilating:

HE'S NOT A BOY, HE'S A MAN. DIESSSSSSSS!! Then Junsu decided to go all cute on our asses (like, IN YOUR FACE cute), and I took a bad fancam of that too:

btw, Junsu did the chunsa pose, like, 92836493264232 times throughout this showcase. Way to kill us, Su!! AND THEN EVERYONE MADE FUN OF YUNHO'S RECORDING VOICE LMAOOOOOOOO

Next was "HEY! (Don’t bring me down)", which ruled the universe, and not just because there was a series of pelvic thrusts and crotch grabs towards the end. :DDD The dance is fierce!

The boys did another ment (sorry, but these things might be out of order; my brain is scrambled 3 hours of sleep last night and THE SHOWCASE OF THE CENTURY asodhfaosd), and then they ran off to change for the next song. ANOTHER NOTE OF AWESOMENESS: In between costume changes and songs, they played “Mirotic” MV making of footage. So basically, there was never a moment when we were not hyped up. XD

Then they came out in stylin’ casual clothes and sang “노을..바라보다”, the ballad that Junsu wrote the lyrics for. Guys. I totally lost it, embarrassing myself and the people I was with (sorry girls!!), and cried like a baby. Then I got angry at myself because my vision was going blurry and I couldn’t see. This song is gorgeous. Stupendous. OTHER EXTREMELY POSITIVE ADJECTIVES♥♥♥

After this…another ment! SHINee and SJ Happy had special video messages where they made requests. lolol at SHINee fanboying our boys like no tomorrow and asking them 1) How do you perform live so well?? TELL US YOUR SEKRITS and 2) How do you pose so coolly? PLS SHOW US *_* Of course, this led to each member doing sexy/cute/ridic situation poses and we all screamed/loled/aww’d our heads off. XD SJH asked them to show off their hot bods (this is what I gathered from SJH’s repeated use of the word “chest” and gesturing towards the ab area). When their video message ended, Boom announced that there was a special guest, and who was it other than…

SUPER JUNIOR’S EETEUK!! He bounced out and hugged everyone, and then proceeded to take everyone’s chest circumference measurement with Boom. HILARITYYY. Everyone died laughing when it got to Yoochun’s ahahaha ilu micks! Somewhere in all of this, Yunho and Jae tried to, like, get Changmin to show more chest, to which Changmin replied by slapping his hand over his innocent bosom. I laughed so hard I think people thought I was insane. D: After all that, Cassiopeia wanted to see more manflesh and were unashamed of it, so they screamed something that I assume meant ABS ABS ABS, because then Yunho and Jaejoong flashed us their ripped stomachs. This was a great night, can you tell? :D

After all that, they sang another new song, “넌 나의 노래.” This was addictive too! A pretty, mid-tempo song that everyone bounced along to. If the three new songs are any indication, the new album is basically going to rock my socks off into the laundry basket.

Another ment, and then “Love in the Ice.” Jaejoong’s voice cracked during his first verse, which made everyone go :O because he’s always spot on there, but he was fine after that. OK, fine is too non-epic of a word for the epic-ness that is “Love in the ice” live. FAWESOME!!!

The boys did a closing ment and thanked us all for coming. We were all like NO WHAT DON’T LEAVE DDDD: They ran off to change for the finale, the first ever performance of “Mirotic.” While they were gone, a video of their written messages to the fans played on the screens overlaid with gorg piano music, which reduced all of Cassiopeia to a sobbing mess. I probably would have cried too, if I understood all of it, but even from what I could make out, I almost cried again. There was a lot of apologizing for being away, thanking Cassiopeia for waiting, talking about how worried they were and how grateful they were for their fans’ love. ;;

Of course, while we were all recovering, they came out and performed “Mirotic.” LIVE. L-I-V-E, AND OH HOW GLORIOUS IT WAS. The dance is hot. The singing is beyond hot. idek what else to say!!

After blowing our minds, the “Mirotic” MV played on the screens immediately after, and. Well. If you’ve seen the fancam of it which has already been uploaded in lightning speed, then you know. Just like they did for cigarettes, the government needs to slap a health warning on this thing. It’s that hot.

That’s my account! Oh, another Why Is Cassiopeia So Sweet story: I lost my shoes in the rush forward during the concert, but these girls who were sitting behind me picked them up and found me afterwards to give them back to me. ;; WHY SO NICE AUGHHH

IN CONCLUSION, DBSK IS THE BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD!!!!! WITH JELLY EVEN!!!!!!!!!!
