What a night

So, working the election went very smoothly yesterday.

Mostly because my crew was an amazing and deserve a ton of credit. We voted over 500 people which is top three election turnout for my precinct. We had no line at 7pm which was very odd. I suppose the rain depressed turnout at the end of the day.

So, started to see the returns on the drive back from Seguin and it looked normal to me. I honestly felt that he was still going to lose, though it would be closer than many thought. It turns out that running a anti-trade liberal as a Republican can win some traditionally blue states, to whit WI and amazingly PA. How much of that was Sec Clinton's misreading of her position in these "safe" states remains to be seen. Her disdain for doing the tough work likely lead to her decision to not go to places she too for granted and it would end up costing her

So, President Trump, he likely won't be as bad as the hyperbole, but he won't be good. Perhaps he is the best that the GOP can hope for. Perhaps he will surprise us, though I hope in a pleasant way. I don't think that will happen. I'm pretty sure we will end up with the terrible President that drove me away from him, and his antics will hurt conservatism and the GOP long term. Then again, perhaps both parties need to be hurt. Perhaps we need to really change things and no one gets what they expected, or wants, but we all need. No way that would have happened with Sec Clinton.

I won't think this will heal the rifts that continue to grow and divide us. I honestly still don't see anything that will heal them.
