ok, memory arrived last week and it works perfectly. went home last weekend and brought up renee's second monitor, which i may be buying from her. now i just need a cd-rom drive(since installing things through a networked cd-rom drive takes forever) and, more importantly, a new hard drive for the second computer. i currently have an older WD 7200rpm 20gig in there. but that's not nearly enough for a game box, especially considering it'll have Halo, UT2004, and Quake 3 on it at all times. not to mention all the games i want to put on it still. so at least a 40-80 gig will be heading it's way sometime soon.
beyond that, renee and i tested out the gaming capabilities of the whole setup. all went well, only a few minor problems, such as the network card in the 2nd computer requiring a reboot ever so often to keep it working. not sure what's up with that, but at least it works. i'm thinking it could be a virus or spyware from when i first installed windows and put it on the network. damn university network being a breeding ground for viruses. oh well, i'll fix it later.
in other news, though somewhat related, cory's coming up this weekend, and we shall get our game on...what what...
