Okay...so I have roughly a half hour before my 12:01 am timeslot opens, and I can proceed in registering for my next semester classes. I'm already decked out in my PJs and am just counting down till I can sign on and fill in my selections.
Today was alright. I went to theory this morning, practiced, went to english, ate a greasy lunch in the Caf, practiced more, went to my dumb UNS class and presented on The Beatles, went to the gym to workout and met up there with Di and Andy (2 other bass players). After the gym, we ate dinner together in the Caf--it wasn't bad. I had some bbq chicken, salad, a roll and a piece of peach pie. I have learned to check out the little clear refridgerators next to the "Healthy Corner." They keep organic stuff in there and I have found they have much better salad dressing in there and yes...real maple syrup (I don't even get that at home, because it costs a lot).
I am listening to my SLSYO recording of Die Moldau. I miss playing in that orchestra. We were really good. I like that piece, too. My 2nd concert of the semester is next Tuesday. We are playing Wagner's Sigfried's Rhinejourney and Funeral March, Mahler's Songs (there is a woman singing while we play) and Brahms 2nd. I hope everything turns out okay....my uncle from California is actually going to be here for that concert (he has a business meeting in Raleigh so he is coming to visit).
I have solo rep class Monday and am playing a somewhat easy piece Antoniotti Sonata....I'm actually playing it like a duet with Paul, but we haven't rehearsed it together, yet. After that, I will be moving on to Bottesini Tarantella which looks kinda hard, but I'm up for the challenge of course. The beginning cadenza looks like a fast piano run (because the notes are tiny), but actually the bass plays it.
Well, I think thats all for now. No pictures today. Sorry.
