So I got a new car back at the beginning of October. I settled for a 2007 Chevy Aveo 5 and I love the car. Not to mention, the monthly payments are in my price range. Just a few days before I officially purchased the car, my Toyota punched a hole in the muffler. That car sounded so bad when I took it for its final drive. I thought it was going to explode on me. Luckily, on my way to West Springfield, I only passed one cop who was on the side of the road directing traffic. It was on a stretch of road where I could step on the clutch and coast my way through. Pushing down on the clutch muffled the sound a little bit. Man, I got the strangest looks as I was pulling into that car dealership. I can't even describe how good it felt to leave that parking lot in a brand new car -- knowing that it wouldn't explode on the drive home.
This week, Jess and I should be getting someone else to work with us at school. It's been such a struggle trying to get Jess to all her classes, feed her, toilet her, and keep up with the school work without help from anyone else. These past four weeks, we've had 64 year old sub working with us which has done nothing but make me lose my mind. She questions everything that I do with Jess and she is so rough with the poor girl. I think this sub is the reason why Jess no longer like lying on the mat. I think the sub is not very gentle when it comes to doing PT. Hopefully, all of this will change this week when they hire someone permanent for the position. If all goes to plan, it will be Holly Kochanowski who is hired -- the woman who worked with us last year. She already knows the position and wouldn't need any training.
The UMass football team has been doing an amazing job this year. Just last Friday, they won the NCAA semifinals against Montana who are ranked second. They will now be traveling to Chattanooga, TN next weekend for the final game against Appalachian State -- ranked number 1. UMass is ranked 3rd. If the band is able to find the funding, I have been asked to help drive the equipment trucks and van down to Chattanooga. It will be a 16-hour drive and about 1,000 miles. I'll have to get the time off from both jobs. Right now, everyone's sitting around their computers waiting to hear the word from Mr. Parks. We were told that we'd know by 1pm today. The time is now 1:43. Once I get the word, I will be marching right over to the deli to get my schedule changed around. I don't want to go through that hassle until I know that we are actually going. This could be an exciting upcoming weekend! Oh, if only I were still a student.
