i'd prefer not to...

Made it to my xpos writing class this morning.  Teacher seems okay so far.  We watched a rather odd movie called Bartleby.

I've heard the name before, but never really knew what it was about.  The movie, as I said before was somewhat odd (in a tasteful way), but I payed attention to it and actually got to liking it.  Good acting/directing.  The movie reminded me of Metamorphoses (the movie & a book by, um Kafka? not sure).  Had a meeting with my IT teacher.  Seems to like me already.  He's a vegitarian, I asked him if he got his meatless balls from tradder joes.  Nope, they were from costco, but he was happy to know I knew about the place.  Anyway, I mention I work at Panera.  We talk about the soup? and the free-wifi which he wants the class to go and check out.  One of the bits of advice I got about college is making sure to meet with your teachers, it can really benefit you.  I encourage this a lot.  Try to take 10min every other week to meet with your professors.  After last quarter, I noticed that the classes I bothered to meet with the teachers were the one's I did better in.  Even if you don't need the help, it could just be to stay and chew the fat.

On the way to dinner, I run into my friend Freddy.  This is at 6.  Freddy: are you going to the Early November show tonight.  Me: What?  Freddy: You didn't know? They're playing at the Axis.  Me: Let's go.  Eat dinner and take the next shuttle at 7:30.  Got there just as they were setting up for TEN.  $13 at the door and worth every penny, even though I missed all the opening acts.  Fuck 'em, just some more mediocre emo bands to clutter up my itunes collection...      ...but I'll probably love them in a month or so.
Got some pictures, check 'em out... hard to focus while jumping up and down and waving your hand in the air like you just don't care.  Seriously, nothing like a good show and being up close to get out any stress or frustration.  First time I stayed at the front of the pit in a while.  They played some new stuff, some fav's, closed with ever so sweet for the encore, which by the way I got on video if anyone wants.  Didn't want to freeze my ass of waiting 40 minutes for the bus so I hung out at 7-11.  Talked with the bum outside.  Total spent tonight <$20.

On the subway, I saw an add for Zipcar.  News By the hr/day.  $ includes everything (gas, insurance, etc.)

it's a genious idea.  Yeah, its like a normal rental car company, but made for us folk in the 21st century.  Fits the american profile's 3 desires: fast, easy and cheap, sort of like sex with a hooker in a trailor park.  Seriously, get your college to look into this, I'm contacting my respective faculty members about setting up an affiliation.  Right now you have to be at least 21(if not 25!) to rent a car.  Zipcar is considering making a program to allow even freshman to rent from them, meaning I could, and it would solve the no car problem on the weekends.  Seriously, a cab costs me $10 for a 10 minute drive.  I'd much rather pay $8.50, drive myself and have a whole hour.  You could use this to pick up friends from airports or train stations.  Figure it costs them at least $25-$50 for 30min cab ride.  How does that beat $8.50? of course unless you like the smelly swearing cabbies.  You tell me.
