All right kids, it's time for my reviews of "United 93"
So we got to the theater at approximately 9:00, about half an hour before it was scheduled to start. I was surprised to see so many people there already. After talking to my friends for several minutes, the movie was ready to begin. After sitting through previews of Apocalypto (which looks like crap), Jesse James (looks good), and the Break Up (funny), United 93 was ready to begin. This movie takes place on a normal Tuesday, and it starts off showing FAA honcho Ben Sliney (played by himself, oddly enough) taking to a random flight controller about the weather. Soon, he gets a notice from a member of his staff that a plane has been hijacked. (United 11, I believe). He soon contacts NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command), and they try to find the planes after they lose them off of radar. They soon find out via CNN that the first one has crashed into the WTC. I realize I am rambling. This is an excellent movie, and if given the chance, everyone should see this movie. I learned a lot about that fateful day, such as the Sears Tower being evacuated. I also learned from my father that there was a bomb threat at my mother's school as well. Also, was the public ever told that one of the hijacked planes almost crashed in midair into a Delta flight? I never knew that.
Overall, go see this movie!!
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the heroes of Flight 93, especially Todd Beamer. You are truly American heroes, and you saved the governemnt of the United States
