Sometimes I get the feeling that I'm one of only a few competent students in my History Extension class. We had an essay due today. I did it, because we've had the importance of doing homework hammered into us over the course of our journey through the schooling system. Several others did it. Quite a few did not. It was the same with the draft for our major work, which we were encouraged to do over the holidays-me and Elliot finished it and handed it in, everyone else did not. I don't get why people didn't try to get the draft done in the holidays-we're getting so much homework as it is that it would be advantageous to have done most of the writing while there wasn't any pressing homework needs.
The moral of this story is: do your homework, for great justice. Or something.
My Art body of work is encountering hiccups. The art teacher wants my sense of humour to be in it. I don't want that. It's not supposed to be funny. I CANNOT MAKE A FLYING EMBODIMENT OF DEATH FUNNY. I don't WANT to either-it's like
adding Yakity Sax to footage of 9/11. Went looking for Grimlock again today. I found the Activator version, but I didn't buy it. One, because I want the larger version with the giant flaming sword. And two, because it looks like crap.
Ultra Magnus is irritating me. This has nothing to do with the character itself-it's to do with the undeniable fact that his toy is the biggest shelfwarmer since I don't know when. KMart has a three-row wall of him, and Hobbyco has a similiar problem (not counting the headless Leader-class Brawl). I think I can pin his shelfwarming status down to his price-not many people will buy $90 toys outside of the Christmas period. Since he isn't shifting, I'm blaming him for shelfwarming and so delaying the release of more TFs, including Grimlock (since he's scheduled to be in Shockwave's wave).
Hobbyco also had Jetfire and Jetstorm. I contemplated buying them, but I don't really want them, so I've decided not to. I might change that, since I'm quite curious to see how their combining works. There were loads of Legend-class TFs there, too, including Beachcomber, Brawn, and G2 Megatron, who are all on my list of TFs I'd like to get. I didn't get any because I simply didn't feel like buying anything.
Also, I'm beginning to entertain the prospect of learning the subtle ways of making intricate plots in which everything is a part of the plan. Yeeeeeesss.....
Meh. I feel down. *goes off to watch Gurren Lagann*
