I can't believe how neglectful I've been of LJ

It's so weird to not be posting on LJ constantly. I really need to stop letting the instant gratification of FB steal me away.

So, really quick update because I have to get ready for school:

+ Worked things out with Heather and I am extremely relieved.

+ Saw my brother Dave for the first time in over a year and he actually wasn't a giant tool. He had really changed a lot and turned into someone that I didn't even know over the last few years but it seems like he's back to his old self again.

+ Saw some friends from the old TC's days and actually really had a heart-to-heart with Jessica and Mike. I never knew that they actually cared about me as much as they apparently do so it was kind of a shock and made me feel bad for misjudging them.

+ Let's see... Oh. In the process of getting all my public aid back. Just have to send in a letter from my mom and I'll get my Medicaid back and have them paying my Medicare premium again, which the next couple months are going to suck a little bit money-wise because the govt takes that money directly out of my disability payments. @_@

+ Went to the Chicago Korean Festival this past weekend. It was alright. Nowhere near the scale of the NY Korean Culture Festival, but I wasn't expecting it to be. I was, however, expecting it to be more than just a few blocks fenced off downtown. *shrug* Whatever. It was fun, though. I met my friend DaVida for the first time face-to-face, got lots of free stuff, got lots of cheap stuff, got really wasted (Saturday I had a Hite and then like 3 bottles of soju XD), had lots of yummy food, and had some fun conversations.

Sunday we went to H-Mart before we went back to the festival and got some groceries. I had a very nice conversation with an ajumma that had several different kinds of tea for sampling. There were soup mixes next to her and my mom asked me a question about them and when I went to answer her I saw that they had a mix for seaweed soup and so I went "I want the seaweed soup, even though it's not my birthday" and laughed a little bit. Well, the ajumma heard me and she leaned forward, her eyes all wide, and pointed to me and went "OH! How you know that?!" It was so funny!!!! So then we had a nice little conversation after that. ^_^

I finally got a real ramyeon pot! So excited! haha And my mom bought these two tables form Korea, a small one for the living room and a larger one for the dining room. They're both low tables and the sides are hand-carved. They're really beautiful. I'll take pictures once my mom gets them set up. We went to the Fancy Pencil Land again, too (of course!). The owners love us. hahaha I think we spent more time talking with them than actually looking at stuff (even though we did get a ton of stuff XD). I got a set of 12 B1A4 posters, a B.A.P. 2013/2014 desk calendar w/stickers, a 2NE1 cd, an Infinite fan, 3 clear file folders: miss A, B1A4, and 2NE1... I know I got something else but I'm blanking at the moment. Ah well. OH! MBLAQ postcards & stickers! The Jungs always give us these huge discounts and then tons of free stuff on top of that. The set of posters is supposed to be $20 and he gave it to me for $12.50 and the postcards were supposed to be $8; he gave to me for $3. They discounted everything. And then they posed for a picture with my mom's silly little doll that she brings everywhere. hahaha

ANYHOW! When we got back to the festival I met up with my girl Brandy. She doesn't listen to KPop but she's obsessed with dramas. It was really good to see her even if it was just for a couple hours.

Okay okay this took longer than I expected! Fall semester started yesterday and so far the first day was pretty good except for that my horrible creative writing teacher from over the summer (you guys who are not also on my FB don't even know how much I despise this woman @_@) is freakin IN my Chinese class! Like, kill me now. Seriously. -_-

Yesterday was English and Chinese, today is Math and Theatre. And I gots ta go!
