i was reading the newspaper (PDI) while we (mom, dad, kuya, me and gabby) were on our way to grotto to attend the mass.. i was very much overwhelmed to have read two beautiful articles today..

article #1
with everything that's going on in Lebanon and the problems of sending the OFWs back to Manila, a very generous Greek by the name of Antonio Antonious (not that sure if I got the spelling right, too lazy to move my butt off the chair and check the paper) offered to ship 2,000 OFws out of Lebanon since the only way possible out of Lebanon is by sea.. that Greek is an owner of a shipping company and is married to a Filipina.. the cost of the evacuation of the Filipinos from Lebanon to Cyprus is a whopping $2million.. however, the Greek said that he would ask the help of his other friends who also owns a shipping company to finance the said trip.. nevertheless, if his friends won't help him to carry out the plan, he is ready to shoulder the whole amount.. according to him, he owe the success of his shipping company to his seamen who are mostly Filipinos (300 out of 500 of his seafarers are dedicated Filipinos).. he believed that without the ability of his Filipino crew he will not be where he is right now and now he just wants to give back what is due for the Filipinos.. he is indeed a very good person.. *two thumbs up for this good old man*

article #2
an honest pedicab driver returned a bag full of cash in 100, 500 and 1000 denominations amounting to 104,000php. an OFW who worked in Lebanon was riding on a motorcycle with her husband when she lost the bag full of money. the owner said that the money is intended for the downpayment of her new house. she was crying when she was able to retrieve her bag full of money because according to her she worked really hard for that money. Jose Buenaventura, a pedicab driver was the honest soul who returned the bag. Even if Buenaventura is just a poor guy living in the slumps he never thought of keeping the money for himself. According to him, that money could have bought a television set for his son as it was his son's birthday wish. but still goodness reigned over his heart and he thought that that money might be needed for the hospitalization of the owner's child. with that, he returned what he had found. the couple rewarded Buenaventura 10,000php. =) everyone ended with a happy story. Mang Jose with 10,000php and the couple with the new house. *God gives blessings in every possible way*
