The slam-off went well, tons of people, great energy, and i got to see poets that I hadn't really seen yet. I felt good about how i did, no regrets about my poems. Everyone rocked their shit, and its nights like that where I want to keep our scene growing, writing and learning from each other. I am anxious to start practicing with the team, because i'm a little bit nervous about it all. half of the team is very very new to the scene and i just hope they are realizing/willing to put in the amount of time and energy its going to take to make this a great year. I am interested to see what group pieces we come up with, and just how everything goes.
Also, we are definitely team estrogen. Or if we were a band, "Brandon and The Vaginas".
I have blisters on my heels, and one just gorgeous disgusting blood-filled blister on bottom of my foot. I had to fuckin tape those bitches up today so they wouldn't hurt. In a few days, I'm going to ask the trainer to pop my blood blister and i'm afraid its going to hurt. Team potluck was good tonight, i'm feeling good about the season and nervous for our game tomorrow.
