Day 09 - Your beliefs

My beliefs? Well, fuck. I'm not entirely sure where to start on that. I wasn't really raised to believe anything. My dad's family is Baptist, and my mom's family is Southern Baptist and Native American. (There's a difference between Baptist and Southern Baptist, trust me. HUGE difference.) We never went to church, though. I've been to numerous religious establishments, just for reference, and the most comfortable I felt was in a synagogue. Which makes sense, because large groups of Christians make me very nervous.

In the end, I don't have a religion. I have my own theories on shit. You know when you're in grade school, and they make you grow a lima bean in a styrofoam cup full of dirt? I think the universe is like that. I think there is a higher power that started shit, but everything from the Big Bang forward is just shit unfolding on its own. I mean, the higher power observes and occasionally throws in a little sun and water, but for the most part, everything that happens in the universe is simply the universe moving forward and unfolding on its own.
