I'm back! I felt like I was asleep the past few months when the year started.
...
This week, I realized how important telling the truth is. Yeah, call me stupid for not knowing how important it is, but in reality, I really believed there was nothing wrong with lying. What's so wrong about lying? What's so good about telling the truth? Goodness is relative anyway, that's what I thought. But through events that took place during the beginning of 2007, I learned the value of honesty and why they say it's the best policy.
Truth and trust are like twins, they stick together no matter how much you try to separate them. I won't go into detail, as I'll be blabbering all day.
Someone I just met recently repeatedly talked about how lying won't get me anywhere and how I could destroy trust by letting the truth out. He was actually trying to make me understand that once summer started, but I was so deaf and blind to not notice it at all. Maybe that's his purpose in my life, to foreshadow the coming events. If I only listened.. but hey, there's no room for regrets now, and as they say, you only gain from experiences, whether it be bad or good. Yes, here comes the optimistic Claudia again :)
Not only did I learn about honesty and trust, but I also realized that sometimes we should take the time to just LISTEN. Stop with what you're busy with for a moment and take the time to listen. Breathe for a moment, relax a little :) Sometimes, because of the rustle of stuff that's keeping you busy, you wouldn't hear those simple messages, signs or advice that's trying to help you live your life a little better. As they say, no man (or woman XD) is an island, and nobody could ever live alone. Learn from others. Listen to what they have to say, whether they be someone important in your life or someone who you were simply in the room with for just 5 minutes. Listen and learn.
