Today was an interesting day, a very productive day.
It started with some new classes, and all was well and good. The last class of the day ended an hour early, so I tried to creep back into the classroom for a quiet place to read. ( I am currently reading Killing Yourself to Live by Chuck Klosterman)and to my surprise the professor was still there packing up his stuff, I asked him if he minded and he had no issues. Somehow we ended up smack dab in the middle of a deep conversation, about art, the world, politics, religion, history, grandparents. You name it. we talked about it. It was an awesome conversation, and I haven't been able to talk to anyone like that in a long time. Once he realized the time he bounced up from his seat and told me he had to run for a meeting, but that he had enjoyed the conversation. Just as he was leaving the room, he turns back around and says,"You know, in today's society, it's really hard to find people who are extraordinary just being themselves. You are just that, and you will go far in this world. I look forward to seeing you in class next week." I couldn't peel the dumb grin off of my face for days.
Then I happened to realize the time, and scooted down the main building to meet up with two girls i had never really talked to before. We were going to the Korean grill down the street from the school for lunch, as a part of some experience design project. The experience turned out to be extremely fun, and the girls were awesome.
Finally, it feels like it's all falling into place.
