Here is my 2024 book survey.

Number of books you read: 34
Number of re-reads: 0
Genre you read the most from: Fantasy

1.Best book you read in 2024: Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson
2. Book You Were Excited About & Thought You Were Going To Love More But Didn’t? I'm Afraid You've Got Dragons by Peter S. Beagle
3. Most surprising (in a good way or bad way) book you read? In a good way was The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner.
4. Book You “Pushed” The Most People To Read (And They Did)? I didn't really push anyone to read anything.
5. Best series you started in 2024? Best Sequel? Best Series Ender of 2024? The Expanse, Daughter of Moloka'i by Alan Brennert, and Defiant by Brandon Sanderson.
6. Favorite new author you discovered in 2024? A pair of authors, but James S.A. Corey.
7. Best book from a genre you don’t typically read/was out of your comfort zone? Beach Read by Emily Henry.
8. Most action-packed/thrilling/unputdownable book of the year? Much of the Expanse series qualifies for this, but to pick one, that would be Cibola Burn.
9. Book You Read In 2024 That You Would Be MOST Likely To Re-Read Next Year? None
10. Favorite cover of a book you read in 2024? Esrahaddon by Michael J. Sullivan
11. Most memorable character of 2024? James Holden from The Expanse series.
12. Most beautifully written book read in 2024? Perhaps Daughter of Moloka'i by Alan Brennert
13. Most Thought-Provoking/ Life-Changing Book of 2024? Not much really. Maybe also Daughter of Moloka'i.
14. Book you can’t believe you waited UNTIL 2024 to finally read? Vicious by V.E. Schwab
15. Favorite Passage/Quote From A Book You Read In 2024? “We’re not people,” he said. “We’re the stories that people tell each other about us. Belters are crazy terrorists. Earthers are lazy gluttons. Martians are cogs in a great big machine.” “Men are fighters,” Naomi said, and then, her voice growing bleak. “Women are nurturing and sweet and they stay home with the kids. It’s always been like that. We always react to the stories about people, not who they really are.” “And look where it got us,” Holden said.” - From Babylon's Ashes by James S.A. Corey. The Expanse series can be disturbingly relevant sometimes.
16.Shortest & Longest Book You Read In 2024? Shortest: Christmas With Louisa May Alcott by Louisa May Alcott. Longest: Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson.
 17. Book That Shocked You The Most? Leviathan Wakes by James S.A. Corey. I wasn't expecting how intense it was going to be. And certainly shocking things happen in it.
18. OTP OF THE YEAR (you will go down with this ship!) Naomi and Holden from The Expanse.
19. Favorite Non-Romantic Relationship Of The Year? Can't really think of any significant.
20. Favorite Book You Read in 2024 From An Author You’ve Read Previously? Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson.
21. Best Book You Read In 2024 That You Read Based SOLELY On A Recommendation From Somebody Else/Peer Pressure/Bookstagram, Etc.: Not really. Maybe the Expanse because of how popular it is or Beach Read by Emily Henry.
22. Newest fictional crush from a book you read in 2024? None.
23. Best 2024 debut you read? Didn't read any debut authors.
24. Best Worldbuilding/Most Vivid Setting You Read This Year? Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson.
25. Book That Put A Smile On Your Face/Was The Most FUN To Read? I don't think I could describe any of the books I read as fun, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy them.
26. Book That Made You Cry Or Nearly Cry in 2024? I'm pretty sure I cried twice while reading Cibola Burn. That was a dramatic book. Daughter of Moloka'i also definitely had sad moments. I don't remember if I cried or not.
27. Hidden Gem Of The Year? Again, Daughter of Moloka'i by Alan Brennert.
28. Book That Crushed Your Soul? There are moments in the Expanse series. Most notably in Leviathan Wakes, Cibola Burn, and to some extent Nemesis Games.
29. Most Unique Book You Read In 2024? The Blood Orchard War Arc by Vash the Author I'm sure qualifies. It's a LitRPG about a guy turning into a blueberry. It doesn't get more unique than that.
30. Book That Made You The Most Mad (doesn’t necessarily mean you didn’t like it)? Cibola Burn because of Murtry. Insufferable character. One of my most hated in a long time.
Did you complete any reading challenges or goals that you had set for yourself at the beginning of this year? Yes, I set out to read Words of Radiance, which I did read. I also wanted to read a romance novel, and that was Beach Read by Emily Henry, and finally I wanted to try a LitRPG, which I did, and that was The Blood Orchard War Arc by Vash the Author.

Looking Ahead

1. One Book You Didn’t Get To In 2024 But Will Be Your Number 1 Priority in 2024? After I finish a current read it will be Somewhere Beyond The Sea by TJ Klune.
2. Book You Are Most Anticipating For 2025 (non-debut)? The Devils by Joe Abercrombie. Really excited for this one.
3. 2025 Debut You Are Most Anticipating? None
4. Series Ending/A Sequel You Are Most Anticipating in 2025? There aren't any series I know of that I follow that are ending next year.
5. One Thing You Hope To Accomplish Or Do In Your Reading/Blogging Life In 2025? To try to make more progress in series I haven't finished or gotten caught up on. Because I'm not sure if I'm going to be in the mood for it, I'll just say I'd be happy if I read one or two books in an outstanding series. The other things, which I'm not making goals for are to maybe read Oathbringer, and also I have a feeling I might read more cozy fantasy this year, but we'll see how that pans out.
