I finished Yorkshire Gubbins, which instead of being one cohesive game, it's more like a few short games that are more episodic. The first one is more of a tutorial, and the next three feature the main character who is named Steggy. One part has her running into a clone of her friend and she has to determine which one is real and which one is a slug monster. Is there an inside joke about Yorkshire I'm missing here where the people of that region are monsters or aliens? Because this is the second game I played specifically set in Yorkshire where monsters have disguised themselves as humans. I'm honestly surprised lol. Anyway, the second episode is about a pie contest and the lengths Steggy has to go to to finish her pie. Then the final episode is a musical episode and I think that's all that needs to be said about that. There are also robots.
This game was so off the wall and silly and despite it's short length, I loved it. I loved the funny accents and the robots. The puzzles were fun too and not that hard. I only had to look up a hint once at least. It is heavily pixelated, but the humor and situations really shine. It was just a nice and wacky diversion. Here's a screenshot. The one shop that Steggy refused to enter, no matter how much I tried and an example of the type of humor in this game.
Next up, I've started yet another pixel art game called The Phantom Fellows. I remember seeing this advertised all over the place on Adventure Gamers. Now it's time to play I guess. You investigate and take care of ghosts with your ghostly companion. I do so love ghostly companions in games.
