Dentist, The Bad Batch and More Star Trek

Let's get this out of the way first. I went to the dentist yesterday for my routine cleaning. I thought there were going to be x-rays this time, but I guess I was mistaken. A couple times the scraping hurt a little and there were a couple cringy moments, but I'm just going to cut to the chase here. A cavity was found, which upsets me to no end. I haven't been in pain at all, so it's just not right. It's on the upper left side this time, which I don't think I've had a cavity up there since the very first time I got fillings. I'm beginning to think I'm just genetically predisposed to cavities by this point. I got an appointment for September 6th to get that one filled. More holes in my teeth. :S

Now for some more pleasant stuff. I caught up with The Bad Batch recently. It's a great show and what I loved about The Clone Wars is how they fleshed out the clone characters, and this one is all about the clones of course. In fact, even more so. It takes place after Revenge of the Sith and I just love how it fills in the gap with information between that film and Rogue One. It does so perfectly. It's all about the aftermath of Order 66 and what really happened to the clones afterward, and how they were treated by the Empire. And so we follow the Bad Batch as they try to survive and make a living. It also introduces Omega who is one of the first female clones and highly sought after for reasons unknown yet. I really love the found family aspect of this series. It's one of my favorite tropes. Season three is supposed to hit sometime next year.

But now this means Star Trek: The Next Generation is finally my main show I'm watching. I'm midway through season two. Guinan was introduced. Cool. And so was Dr. Pulaski. I don't know why Gates McFadden hasn't been on in the second season. I'm sure I can look it up. Maybe later. I do like Dr. Pulaski pretty well. Her acting feels very natural. I don't know if I can explain this, but it doesn't feel like she's acting. I thought she was going to die in one episode, but nope. It was kind of weird when the season started off, Wesley is now suddenly an ensign and full time bridge member. I think Brent Spiner is the best actor thus far. He's very versatile. “Measure of a Man,” was fantastic, but I knew it would be. Anything else to say about this season so far? Hmm. I don't know. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the Borg are supposed to show up in this season. Maybe in the finale. I know it's when Q first introduces the Enterprise to them. Yeah, it's not going to be pretty.

In between seasons, I'm going back to doing what I did before where after every season I'll watch an old Disney classic live-action film. It's been a little while. I always find some entertainment with those. But I'd say so far I'm going through TNG fairly quick, so might as well break it up.
