Grammy's birthday was on Friday, but we celebrated it yesterday. We brought over Bagels and Brew for lunch (a local cafe), and my aunt Jennie brought a red velvet cake and Baskin Robbin's rainbow sherbet ice cream to go with it. But of course before having dessert, Grammy opened her cards and gifts first. I had picked out a couple books for her: My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante and Tales From the Cafe by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. Both of these I had seen recommended on Booktube, and thought they'd be something Grammy would like. Then we had the cake, which was yummy. BTW, my aunt Jennie had both my mom and Grammy written on there, since she didn't celebrate my mom's birthday yet. She also got both Grammy and my mom these nice looking orchid flowers. The cake was really yummy, and after we ate, we were just chatting for a while. A lot of it having to do with our misgivings with technology lol and some chat about current events. Again aunt Jennie stayed longer than I expected her to.
After she left, Grammy wanted help with doing stuff on her computer. It's gotten extremely slow and we don't know why. She has Windows 10, so I don't know why it should be slow, but maybe the computer is older than we think. She definitely needs a new one. She got this email from her dentist to fill out a form online, so she wanted help with that. It took a long time. It also didn't help that she had sticky keys on her keyboard too. Now it was almost going on 6pm, but Grammy still wanted to play one game. It had to be a quick one because we had to get back home to have dinner. So, we played a quick round of Skip-Bo. Meanwhile we had the anti-virus and Malwarebytes run on her computer to see if that could be the cause of why it's so slow, but nothing was ultimately found. Finally we could go home. I wanted to go home earlier, but it was still a nice time.
The other thing I want to mention is that I finished that hidden object game I was playing. It was pretty long. I'd say I probably liked the bonus chapter more than the main game, but it was not bad. Some bad voice acting lol, but the story was OK. Now I'm starting a game called NORCO. I've only played about five minutes of it, but I'm not sure what to make of it yet. It seems post-apocalyptic maybe? And it reminds me a little of Kentucky Route Zero, which I have the unpopular opinion of not liking, but we'll see how this one goes. I also know of a couple games that I'm really excited about (well one of them at least) coming out, but I'm still going to play this game first before diving into those.
