So, Halloween sucked because we couldn't do anything because my dad had a conference call and had to work the rest of the night. Yeah, usually we go out to the movies for Halloween, but that obviously wasn't going to happen this year. I thought at the very least we could maybe go out to dinner. Nope. No time for that either. It was crap. I did manage to convince my mom to go out and pick up Mimi's for dinner. I figured if I couldn't eat out, I could at least pretend like I did and have some restaurant food. I went with her. She dressed up as a cat. I didn't dress up as anything. The food was yummy. I'll say that. We got desserts too. I had bread pudding for dessert and Chicken Parmesan for dinner. I didn't have any candy. :O Well, maybe next Halloween will be better. Unfortunately this year it fell on a Tuesday and my dad seems to have a conference call every week on that day. But they had to have it on Halloween. Why??? 364 more days and I'll probably have the Halloween I wanted. Is it time yet?
OK, it wasn't completely horrible because I did finish off season two of Stranger Things, which was fun to watch during this time of year. I see why they chose to release it at this time. So, I thought I would talk about this season briefly. First off, it was insane. Everything about it is bigger, epic and more badass. It also seemed to be a season of shipping. A lot of romantic hook-ups and well poor Will. He is tortured again throughout the season. The kid just can't catch a break. Eleven's story arc seems to come full circle. There's a lot she's dealing with and has to overcome before she finally returns to her friends again.
Some new characters get introduced this season. First off is Bob played by Sean Astin who serves as the love interest for Joyce. I thought he might turn out to be a villain because of the way he seemed to come out of nowhere, but it turns he was more of an "unlucky bastard" (see Jurassic Park: The Lost World for the reference) type of character. Then you have Max and her stepbrother Billy (played by the guy from Power Rangers lol) who've moved to Indiana from California. Max took me some time to warm up to before I could see her as one of the gang. As for her stepbrother, he is a grade A douchebag and I didn't understand what his deal was until you see a scene between him and his dad, which explains it all really.
And the pop culture references this season reminded me of: The Exorcist, Gremlins and maybe a bit of Night of the Living Dead?
Our old favorite characters are still great. I think Steve redeemed himself for me. I think Dustin really shone in this season though. Great acting all around from everybody though and that's all I really wanted to say. I think season two topped season one for me. Season one was good, but this season was amazing. And now I guess another long wait for season three. I do have the after show still to watch, called Beyond Stranger Things. I think that's cool that they decided to do that. That should be fun to watch.
Who ya gonna call?
