Batman - Episode 5

Dec 18, 2016 15:21

I'm fresh off of finishing the last episode of Batman (Yes, it finally came out on Friday.) called City of Light. It's time to put an end to the Penguin after he killed the police commissioner (Not Gordon. Had to do a double take there. Well, the guy did have a name similar to Gordon), which is not so hard. Meeting up with him as Bruce and with the real Gordon's help we take him down and he gets carted off to prison. So, all who remains left is Lady Arkham herself, Vicki Vale, or should I say Victoria Arkham. However, before Bruce can really do anything, he gets word that Selina has stolen something from him. He leaves Wayne Manor to track her down. When he finds her, we learn she was kind of putting Bruce on this whole time. He was just a job for her and she got the job done. I'd like to believe that some of their relationship was real though. It isn't surprising. She is Catwoman after all. Selina gives Bruce back the item she stole, and leaves Gotham behind. Bruce decides to get back to what he was doing, only to find out...shit! The manor's been ransacked and Alfred's been kidnapped by the Children of Gotham! Leave Alfred alone!

Alfred couldn't fight them off this time, but Bruce follows a lead that Vicki has taken Alfred back to her house. It is there where we learn the secrets of her dark past. In the basement, Vicki's foster parents used to physically abuse her, and by the looks of it very very badly. Of course she blames the Waynes for everything because Thomas Wayne had her real parents sent to Arkham Asylum. But Alfred managed to get a message out to Bruce with some chalk. Bruce learns that Vicki's gone to Arkham to free everyone. When Batman arrives, Vicki sets the prisoners free and all hell breaks loose, but we take care of things and then manage to follow Vicki to, I want to say a church? Where she's keeping Alfred captive. She asks Batman to reveal his identity and then she will let Alfred go. I figure I don't have much to lose, so the mask comes off and Vicki is shocked and angry of course. It really doesn't change anything. It's a duel to the death between her and Bruce. Meanwhile between the two of them, the whole place is tumbling down. Vicki is crushed to death and the city is saved, or is it?

Gordon has just been named as the new commissioner and is about to give his speech. I'm given the choice to attend as either Batman or Bruce Wayne. I go as Batman. It's time for Gotham to see Batman more publically and it's a good thing I did go as Batman because then someone tries to make an assassination attempt on Gordon and I save his life just in time. The security in Gotham sucks. Meanwhile, the Joker is watching this all on TV (Who let him out? It didn't look like Arkham, but I'm not sure.) and plans to top Batman. So er...sequel. TellTale doesn't do sequels very often though, unless they're The Walking Dead. So, this was a good end to round off the season. Here's a screenshot. Batman vs Penguin. BTW, the backstories of both Penguin and Vicki don't justify their evilness.

Going back to that casual game I was playing now, but I'm almost done and I do know what I will be playing next: The Journey Down Chapters 1 & 2.

One more off topic thing: We're having our Christmas dinner early tonight at Grammy's house. So, I'll likely report on that tomorrow and a little something else too.
