Bioshock Infinite

I finished Bioshock Infinite the other day, which is an accomplishment for me. The final battle was pretty tough, but once I got the strategy down, I got it done after three tries. There were a number of tough battles throughout the game, but I pushed through them. At least when you die, you go right back into the action. I don't like autosave features, but they have their uses such as that. I don't have to go and reload an old save or be saving constantly. I liked the game overall. As I said, Columbia is a gorgeous setting. Flying around hooked on skylines can be fun. The plot was kind of lost on me especially when the whole time travel and alternate realities started happening. I liked having Elizabeth as a partner because she throws you stuff like health and ammo when you're low. Story basically goes you are trying to save Elizabeth from a life of confinement, and to pay a debt. The particularities of that debt comes out later. Elizabeth dreams of traveling to Paris, and Booker DeWitt is just trying to escape his hazy past. It's set in 1912, in a city in the clouds where racism is prevalent, and everyone's trying to kill you because you are the false prophet. Religion is a common theme throughout the Bioshock series (at least the first one and this one, I don't know about the second one since I can't play it.) You'd think the game creator has something against religion or something. As for the ending, it's a mindbender and I'm not sure I'm happy about it. Liked the game, would have liked less combat because that's not for me. Would I play it again? I don't know. If I did play it again, I might play it better since I know better how to fight the enemies. Here's a screenshot

Now I'm starting American McGee's Alice: The Madness Returns. It took forever to install for some reason, and I hate that I had to open an EA account to activate the game. At least it doesn't use Steam, which I loathe, but sometimes have to use anyway and most games these days use it. I also hate that physical copies of games are going extinct. Sign of the times I guess, but both my copies of Alice and Bioshock Infinite are hard copies. >:) However, that's getting off topic... The change in camera motion on this game compared to Bioshock is throwing me off a bit. I also suck at jumping, but I like it so far. I like it that you can't die if you fall, which I probably will do often. This game also uses an autosave feature. I'm still kind of getting used to the mechanics. This is another where I'll try to get as far as I can without cheating, and hopefully if I do resort to cheating that the cheat code will work. If it doesn't, I'll try my best before throwing in the towel. I did make it through Bioshock Infinite, but that was a FPS and I could hide from enemies. It's not really the same case here and it's a different type of game. So, we'll see how it goes.
