We went to Disneyland yesterday. It was nice and uncrowded, but unfortunately I was kinda tired and out of it, so I didn't feel as enthusiastic as usual. But I got some Captain EO plushies. When I purchased them, the man at the counter asked me if I could answer a Michael Jackson trivia question. I said I probably already know the answer. I did. The question was "Who is buried next to Michael Jackson?" The answer, is of course Walt Disney. They are both buried at Forest Lawn cemetery in LA. The man said that he'd ask about 100 people that question and 1 in 100 would know the answer, but he said that day 4 people got it correct. So, that was pretty cool. I'm the MJ Encyclopedia. I know everything.
Ok, warning rant mode here: I was running out of meds for my PCOS, so we went to the pharmacy to pick up a new prescription only to find out that my endocrinologist ordered the regualar meds instead of XR. So, once again my mom called the doctors again telling them I needed the XR version because my body can't tolerate the regular version. It's true, I get really horrible side effects from it that would interfere with my daily life if I were to take the regular version. Besides XR is the version I have always been taking for months anyway. Why the sudden change? This was clearly a doctor error (and this would not be the first time either). The pharmacy tried getting in touch with the doctor's office again, and long story short, they got a letter from them telling them to stop calling, and insisting that the meds I've been taking are the regular version, not the XR. WTF? Uh, hello I think I'd know what meds I've taking for the past several months (actually probably years now). My endocrinologist is a complete idiot, she's shown that on many occasions. She almost never seems to know what medication I'm taking, unless I've gone in to see her. She apparently doesn't keep track of her patients. Then to just suddenly change the form of my medication before having an appointment first? Why would she do that? There's no way I can take the regular form. That was what was ordered, but I asked my mom to return it because I refuse to take it and have to deal with side effects that completely disable me. I still occasionally get side effects even with the XR, but at least it's pretty manageable. Another thing: my endocrinologist moved to another office without notifying me. They said they don't notify patients unless they have an appointment coming up
So, here's what happening: This fuckery has gone on too long, and so I'm going to see a new endocrinologist. Luckily we found one and I have my first appointment next month. I need a doctor who knows what they're doing and knows what medication I'm taking. Enough is enough. This means I'll be un-medicated for a little while, but I'm just sick of the stupidity.
