Grammys and More

The other day I sent a message to Orianthi Panagris on Twitter. She was nice enough to be talking to fans there, so I thought I'd send her message. Orianthi was Michael Jackson's guitarist on This Is It. And she really is a fantastic guitar player. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orianthi My message to her was that I had bought her album on her birthday (I really did, but that was kind of coincidental) and that I hope she has a nice day. And she responded back! She said "Thank You." I thought that was pretty nice. She was answering the fans' questions too, all while she was having her hair done, so I guess she had the time to do that.

As I said before most of my followers are MJ fans from all around the world. But I think about half of them are about half my age lol. I think that's really great though that Michael's music is reaching the youth. That's how his legacy will stay alive.

There was a fantastic tribute to him on the Grammys last night. Celine Dion, Usher, Carrie Underwood, Smokey Robinson, and Jennifer Hudson all sang along with Michael to "Earth Song" which was full on in 3D. Behind them played the short film that was to be in the This Is It concerts. It was so incredible. They put their soul into the song, and the 3D was amazing.

Then after, two of Michael's children, Prince and Paris took the stage to accept Michael's lifetime achievement award. It's the first time they've been seen in the public eye since the memorial on July 7th. You could tell that they were nervous. I know this had to be really hard for them, but they both said what needed to be said -- that they will continue to spread his message, which is to heal the world. They were very composed and looked well. I can tell they are strong like their father.

But it still serves as a reminder of the great loss. He was "gone too soon" and should have been there at the Grammys. I'm sure he is very proud of his kids.
