My Brother's Birthday and Phones

Jun 06, 2009 12:37

It's my brother's birthday today. He turned 19 today. I had almost forgotten (time flies when you're in obsess mode), but I wished him a Happy Birthday this morning. He went out to Fuddrucker's (best burgers ever) and Nickel! Nickel! (an arcade) with a couple of friends. My mom also has baked a cake for him. Looking forward to that later.

Grammy called. Of course I was the only one in the house at the moment so I answered. She wanted to know if my dad was back from his business trip yet. I said my mom found out that he was coming home today and not last night. My mom reminded me to tell her this because she would freak out otherwise. My dad was flying on AirFrance, which was the airline that had recently crashed. Even though it's not the same plane, Grammy's still a bit worried. Then she asked me if my brother was there so she could wish him a Happy Birthday. I said no, he was out with his friends at Fuddrucker's and Nickel! Nickel!. Then she asked if my mom was there. "No." "Did your brother check the mail today?" "I don't know" "Well be sure to check the mail for him because he might have a birthday card in there or something." "Ok." I haven't checked the mail. I'll let someone else do it if they want to. :P At this point I was distracted because someone had walked in the door. I was thinking it was my mom, but it was Kourtnei. Me being on the phone + having a distraction = me sounding like I'm upset (I guess). So, Grammy asked if I was ok. I said "Yeah" in a cheerful voice. :S Then she asked where my mom went. I said she went to go get a haircut, and she said, "Oh, going to look nice for when he gets home huh? (talking about my dad). I said "Yeah." Then she said "Well, tell your brother I said 'Happy Birthday' ok." "Ok." "Goodbye" "Bye."

Eh, I don't think I'll ever get over my hate of phones even if I am talking to someone I'm more comfortable with. Just the ringing sound alone causes an extreme amount of irritation. Who ever invented phones should be shot. :P

It seems weird that next year my brother and I will both be in our twenties. Where did the time go?

Still haven't made a firm decision what I'm going to do for my birthday yet. I was thinking of doing a dinner theater thing. That's almost the same thing I did last year (going to Medieval Times.) It's always a pain trying to figure out what I want to do or what I want for presents. Birthdays are rarely fun anymore.
