I've noticed when I'm up late I'm often thinking about philosophical stuff. Last night for example I was thinking about what happens after you die. I myself believe in some sort of afterlife and I hope that I'm right about that. Of course I'll never know for sure unless I die. I think I believe in an afterlife because I'm kind of afraid of the idea of just disappearing after death. It's very hard to contemplate that happening and very scary. I don't want to just disappear after death. If however the Conversations With God books are true then it means that there is an afterlife and it is whatever you want it to be. There is actually some evidence it could be true too what with some experiences of people who had NDEs. Some have seen a tunnel of light, while others saw nothing. It could be that whatever people believe becomes real. If that is the case too and I personally believe it is, then my afterlife would be consisted of various different things like different fantasy worlds. I've always wanted to live in places like Disneyland, Fantastica, Neverland or Hogwarts. So if what I believe is true then my afterlife would be like those places. It truly would be like Heaven after all. I'd also want to continue pursuing my interests after death. Having an eternity to read all the books I want would be wonderful. Also in the Conversations With God series it is said that the afterlife is a bit like the one in the movie What Dreams May Come I already love that movie a lot and knowing this makes it even more magical. I could probably watch that movie over and over.
I like to think this way because it gives me some hope at least, but if I do indeed just disappear after I die, well then that's just the way it will be. But I don't like to go on living believing that. I'd rather have the feeling of being rewarded after death.
