So, I wasn't dragged to lunch yesterday. I also didn't get any work done, but I did this afternoon. I also did get my interview accomplished. It was fairly interesting. I interviewed my grandma on suicide by the way. She attempted it because she was being beaten by her husband for 25 years. When I repeated to my mom what I had learned, the details seemed shady to her and she thinks my grandma's memory recall isn't great. Oh well, it shouldn't really harm my presentation. I also need to type up a paper on it. Ugh.
My dad came home early yesterday, after work and he was in severe pain. He was complaining of his back and stomach hurting. My mom looked in the medical book and thought that it might have been kidney stones. She told him that he should have gone to Urgent Care right away, but he didn't want to. He doesn't like doctors. He was just figuring maybe it was stress related. Later that night he took some Advil and Tylenol and he went to bed. Then a couple hours later he came back down because he was still in pain. So, my mom decided he should be taken to the hospital. I decided I wanted to come with even though I didn't have to. I wanted to know what was wrong. So, we drove to the hospital. The nurse took blood tests and later they wanted to do a CAT scan. My mom and I went home because it would take a few hours to get the results. By then it was quite late; I had gone to bed. My dad called my mom back and she drove back to the hospital alone.
This morning I learned that it was indeed confirmed that my dad had kidney stones. There wasn't much they could do but give pain meds and they also gave him antibiotics because his kidney was looking inflamed. Now he just has to wait for it to pass and he also has an appointment with a urologist tomorrow.
I hope it passes soon for him. I can't imagine how horrible the pain must be. :(
I downloaded and played a freeware adventure called Nelly Cootalot: Spoonbeaks Away. It's a pirate game, but also original. I liked it a lot, the music was catchy, and graphics and animation were great. It isn't every day I get to play a freeware adventure on the same level as a commercial adventure game. :) You can play it here
