So, I went to class to take my final feeling a little bit worried because I didn't know what all would be covered on there. I really only studied from the half of the test he gave us. Then he told us that he lied about there being 100 questions on the test. There were only 50, and they were exactly the same questions he had given us to study from. We were all in shock that he had done this for us. We had already gotten all the answers. All we had to do was fill them out. Now there was no doubt I would get a B in this class. He then said he would take the scantrons and then grade them and hand them back to us. While I was waiting for him to return, I read. In fact I was the only one in the whole class who read. The rest were talking. I'm in awe at how people can talk on and on about nothing at all. When he came back he said the answers were fine, but the answer key was wrong, so he just posted up our grades this morning. And yes, I got a B like I thought. That's a relief.

Last night I couldn't sleep. So, I read a little and tried sleeping again. That didn't work so I went downstairs and got my other book and read a little from that. That didn't work either. So, then I decided to take a tylenol pm and went into the bedroom. Luke was in his cage and happy to see me. I turned on the tv at 2am. Captain Planet was on, so I watched. They sure pushed environmentalism on kids with that one. Not that it's a bad thing. Oh yeah, and Ma-ti's heart power is not an element! It is a classic cartoon though despite its flaws. :P Then I put on VH1 Classic and The Village People were on. Then I decided to go to bed at 3:45am, knowing my mom would wake me up this morning at 8 to go to breakfast.

So, we went to breakfast. I went in the bookstore, while they went christmas shopping at Macy's. I browsed the science-fiction section and found A Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne. Knowing that I had very muched loved Verne's Around the World in 80 Days, I sat down and read. After some time, an old man came by and asked me what I was reading. The conversation went like this:
Me:(shows man what I'm reading)
Him: Oh, you know when I was a little boy I first read The Mysterious Island.
Me: Ah
Him: His books sure are good at making you feel like you're there.
Me: Yeah, they're pretty fun.
Him: And what's interesting is some of stuff he wrote about in there is actually true, about the hollow earth, and things like that.
Me:(Wonders what he could possibly mean by this) Yeah?
Me: I also read his Around the World in 80 Days.
Him: Did you like it?
Me: Yeah.
Him: Well, goodbye then.
Me: Bye
Him:(comes back) By the way, where did you find it?
Me: In the science fiction section, over there.
Him:(goes to leave, but then comes back) Are you a science fiction kind of gal?
Me: Yeah.
Him: Have you read his other, War of the Worlds?
Me: I think that was H.G. Wells wasn't it?(he nods) No, I haven't read it.
Him: That was a good one.(leaves for sure this time)

I think it was a pretty nice conversation. It's kinda nice to be able to talk about books. I had read up to chapter 4 in A Journey to the Center of the Earth, right before the part where Harry and his uncle plan to go on their journey. Kind of a cliffhanger way to end it, but right now my mom's at Borders and she's going to buy it for me. The old man was right in that Verne's books do seem to put you right in the story and take you on an adventure. That's what I love about them. :)
