Dance Dance Dance!

Having just watched two hours of Swan Lake with Melissa, I feel like my true calling in life is to be a ballerina.  A lead ballerina, who gets to wear the red shoes.  Do you guys rememeber Fast Forward?  I don't remember much of it, but I do remember the episode where Becka, a ballerina of like, ten years, is given the lead in the ballet.  Her ballet teacher gives her these red ballet slippers, the point(e) ones?  And tells her that she's getting the lead, which is clearly something she's been working towards since she started ballet.  But it's also the same year she started high school, and you know those wholesome Disney shows, they're all about thrusting ridiculous popularity obstacles at their characters.  She joined the cheerleading squad to try and gain some leverage in the popularity department.  And because she was spending so much time cheerleading, she stopped going to ballet rehearsals and when she finally went to one, she found out that she'd lost the lead to a younger girl.  Needless to say, this was a blow to her ego and seemed to set her back on track with what was really important to her.  In the end, and these types of shows always resolve themselves in half an hour, she gave up on the cheerleading and went back to ballet.  Resigned to play a backup dancer for that year and try again for the lead the next.  Am I really the only one who remembers this?  I might be.  I did like Flash Forward.

The Swan Princess is practically Swan Lake in animated form.  Actually, it completely is.  However, when you're ten and don't know anything about Tchaikovsky, you don't know that it's based on Swan Lake, so forgive me Dan Gosin for not knowing about classical music when I was barely old enough to read.  Man, take out the music and the ballet and all you're really left with is... a decent animated movie that didn't warrant a crappy sequel I never saw.

We're living in Eddy next year, the dorm with the haunted room.  I know for a fact Brittany is going to want to visit it.  I might be swayed to go with her.
