a midsummer night's ramble

I always want to blog but then once I click on "update" I find myself with nothing to say, or I just get increasingly lazy.

On Thursday I went biking with Sairah, Ann and Jo'Ann. We biked to Breen, but not before Sairah and I went running at the park. Girl Talk is the best running music ever, period. LET ME SEE YOU POP THAT PUSSY LET ME SEE YOU SHAKE THEM TITTIES.

Anyway, Sairah and I drove to Westview High School that night to watch fireworks. They were already starting when we got on the 56, but we were still able to watch the majority of them from the parking lot of the school.

I worked on the 4th from 6:45 to 2:00. An incident occurred in which a couple wanted to pay with a hundred dollar bill, and I went to get my manager because I only had 1s and 5s in my drawer, so then the couple was like "OH WE'LL JUST PAY WITH A 20." So then I was all confused because I'd already pressed in "$100" on the touch screen and my manager was explaining to me that as long as I gave them back the right change out of 20 then it would be fine. So I give them their change, and I give them back their 100, and I THOUGHT they'd given me a 20, but I guess they hadn't, so at the end of my shift I was written up for being 20 dollars under. Motherfucker. I didn't even watch fireworks last night; I was too lazy to get out of my house. Does that make me UnAmurrican??

I watched My Blueberry Nights yesterday. It was alright; I actually kind of liked it. Ah, Nora Jones--stick to your day job. The opening scenes with her being angry were kind of painful to watch, and Rachel Weisz was miscast as a sleazy Southern Jezebel. There was also a lot of dialogue for a Wong Kar Wai film, and none of it was that spectacular. Nonetheless, I give it a 6.5 out of 10. Or maybe that's too high; 6.4. There.

I worked again today from 5 to 11. I like working registers so much more than working dining room. I don't have to walk around all the time and have guests confronting me with mistaken orders and asking me to get them mayonnaise (it's RIGHT THERE by the soda machine!!!!) or dealing with the messes people leave behind on their tables. If there's one thing I hate though, it's closing. I'd rather wake up at 5 in the morning and not have to worry about sweeping and mopping and restocking and closing everything up at night and having to be out of there by 11. Today I was out at 11:13, which isn't bad for me. It was all thanks to Rocio, one of my coworkers, who stayed after her shift was over to help me with everything.

PS, Things to be excited about:
-July 18: The Dark Knight Midnight Showing on Mothafuckin IMAX!!!!
-July 23-25: UCLA Orientation
-September 19-20: Street Scene

Word to your mother.
