Good day...
So, my day was good, mostly due to 2 factors:
1: I got to make my Chinese won tons for Laurie, Beth, Laura, and Serena. Sadly, I really have fun making them, but mostly because of what we watched while eating them...
2: Ohno GOLD!!! - Yeah, the short track 500-M and relay finals were the actual excuse for the cooking, mainly because I'm sad and look forward to this for four years. And seriously, I though my heart was going to stop during both the semi-finals and finals of the 500-M. Apolo almost didn't qualify (despite being in the lead for most of the short race) because someone cut him off, but he then did qualify, due to a disqualification of another skater. Then, in the finals, there were 2 false starts - seriously, how can someone have a good race after even 1 false start?!?
So, Ohno finally got the perfect race that he's always said he wanted. Finally, a gold medal that the S. Koreans can't dispute - and Ohno won't get any more death threats for. At the end he looked so sincerely ecstatic, and the whole apartment was literally standing up and cheering - Yeah, I guess we're all equally sad. - At least I have company :-)

PS: Ohno also led the US to a bronze in the relay, the first medal for the US in that event since the 80s
