So, I got into Lancaster! (Not that it's too surprising, since Sarah Barber was the one reviewing my app, and when I was abroad she told me to apply to her program) But still, I got accepted to one of the top universities in Britain, so yay!
Oh, and I might have finally figured out what to do for my film 350 paper: the evolution of the screwball comedy subgenre. Basically the screwball comedies were a type of comedy of the 1930s and early 40s ("a sex comedy without the sex") that supposedly died out, but I will try to argue that the formula has continued and evolved into the modern romantic comedy genre. And the best part is some of the research I get to do: I'm going to be comparing It Happened One Night to modern romantic comedy/screwball comedies like When Harry Met Sally, Bridget Jones' Diary, Sweet Home Alabama, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Two Weeks' Notice, Clueless, What Women Want, and Something's Gotta Give. I love this class! Anyone want to help me with the research (aka, watching some cheesy romantic comedies with me)? I just need to wait and see if Jim approves my topic.
Now that I don't have any more distractions, I'm gonna work on my screenplay - yeah, the guitar is out of commission for a couple days, due to a restringing accident & lost bridge pin - Moral to the story, never clean your room ;-)
