Campus Police FAIL

Aug 21, 2009 02:13

Uhh...so I was lying in bed reading a passage in a novel about a child being raped and murdered, which probably had me creeped out to begin with.

It did not help when, near 2:00 a.m. a man pounded on my door and started yelling "Campus police!!"

I got up and put my glasses on, and then I stopped and thought "Like fuck I am opening my door at 2:00 in the morning when there is no one else even living on this hall yet." I'm moved in early to sing with Choir at orientation tomorrow and there is seriously no one on this hall, and very few people in the entire building. So I just didn't answer the door.

Anyway, I was a little too weirded out and knew that I was not going to be able to fall asleep without knowing what the fuck that was about, so I went ahead and called campus police to make sure this guy was actually with them.

Yes, he was in fact from campus police. Apparently this man decided at 2:00 am to bang on people's doors for the very important reason of telling them to move their cars off of the landrum drive loading zones.

What. the. fuck.
Who bangs on people's doors at 2:00am to discuss parking issues? I understand the freshmen are moving in tomorrow and they need those spots cleared, but....what the fuck.

I mean, I suppose they think that this is a college, and therefore everyone is awake this late...but...there is nobody on this hall (the RA doesn't even seem to be around, and my roommate isn't here, so I was pretty uncomfortable opening my door to a stranger that late at night, maybe I am overly cautious, but whatever. That was a stupid reason to be knocking on my door).

Maybe I should have just stuck to reading Jane Eyre tonight. Then I would have just opened the door and acted like Bertha Mason, and bit the guy or lit him on fire or something.
