So the thing is, there are two film reviewers whose opinions I trust. One is the late Roger Ebert, the other is irrelevant because he's not available in any language most of you speak. I read the book even though I knew I wouldn't enjoy it. But it seemed like a good book to read in the "feel good" , "romance" and "a book normal people read" genre (in order for me to keep up with the modern times) It is no great literature for sure and while the concept could have been interesting, it is just not particularly witty or intruiging or anything much at all. I couldn't even finish the movie, it just dragged on and on. Why was it such a big hit, I wonder.

Haaah, I read the book in the hope that it somehow was going to be profound and insightful despite the summary, but it turned out to to be pretty much exactly what it sounds like. I think I mostly liked the film for Dexters' nineties hair and the Edingburgh scenes.

YOU SHALL BE MY GOODREADS FRIEND. Good timing too. I've been there for like three years or something and only this last week started begging various family members to join so that I'd have someone to talk to.
