The Vacay Series, 1 of 3

I'm dividing the story of my vacation. It will be a 3 part miniseries. mostly for my sanity, because it'll be way too long if i wrote it all in one.

The first part involves my trip to vancouver.

In no other way but true Stace form, I got to the airport AS THEY WERE BOARDING. i got on the plane just fine, thankfully, although there was much praying and muttering as we hit every red light on the way (7, but you'd be amazed at how many minutes that added to my trip).

Flight was uneventful. To my dismay, the tv was broken on my flight to calgary, and i was the middle seat between two chatty, armrest hogging ladies (who had working tv's) and so that with the turbulence, i was hella miserable.

layover in calgary was uneventful. as usual, hunting down vegetarian food in cowtown was nothing short of french fries, sure to make me ill, so i sat, hungry, waiting to arrive in Vancouver.

Vancouver itself was awesome. My visit with Rachael was really great, we hammered out a system that should work for the eventual completion of the many scripts we have on the go. KD, Uncle Fatih's pizza AND Toshi's sushi was consumed, and good visits were had.

My costume volunteer day ended up being an ACTUAL PAID DAY which was fucking amazing. It was on the miniseries Mirabilis (like Fabulous) aka DRAGONSTEEL. yes, that meant it was fantasy, so i was dressing goblins, elves, and humans, in different classes like miners, shoppers, divinities, ect. It was hella fun. The day involved many creative ways to make background performers look dirty. i loved it. the designers and the set super really liked me, and apparently i now have an in with a wardrobe crew. which is awesome, and is making a ton of my other recent decisions really hard.

which brings me back to rachael. she and i had a heart to heart talk about energies, which was much more hippie than i'm used to but whatever. apparently, my absence was felt. by many. i joked about me leaving and it going to shit. but never to the people in vancouver. all her and mike could say was " WE CAN"T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED AS SOON AS YOU LEFT!". hm.

mike's birthday was great. chatting and beer and what not. super low key since i only got there at 10 (and i had been awake at 4 am, so naturally i wasn't about to do a jig), but it was so nice to see my vanny pals again. too bad we didn't play any poker, that's what would have made it perfect.

ok. that's all i feel like typing for now. parts 2 and 3 will be here shortly.
