American Idol! House! Lots of YouTubeishness!
This is pretty much all I've been watching lately, as I find I have, like, zero patience for sitting still long enough to watch TV. I don't know what the hell is up with my attention span, but it's but a distant memory at this point.
Usually, I find everything leading up to the top 24 pretty much unbearable, but I've been lurking in and out of AI this season and I absolutely adored yesterday's Hollywood week episode.
How great was this guy! I didn't even recognize the song until he got to the chorus but I adored his voice. Also, shut up Randy's laugh. I thought Kara had it wrong though when she said the performance reminded her of Adam Lambert from last season, it had way more of a Kris Allen flavour. It totally made me think of how he rocked an acoustic version of "Heartless" last year.
Didi! Singing "Terrified"! Thought she was fabulous, lovely voice, and she made me squee. I'm so happy with the amount of good female vocalists we have so far.
Crystal Bowersox is in this vid, too, and I thought she was great. A bit on the schmultzy side with the whole 'I'm going to win American Idol for my son and look at my meaningful tattoo' thing, but I don't really think that's her fault. AI does seem to like shoving people in boxes (i.e. The Boy Next Door vs. Guyliner, wtfever).
I'm a sucker for this song, and for big adorable guys with awesome voices of awesomeness. And everyone singing along! Eeee!
Haeley Vaughn, ack, so sweet I am getting cavities right now. I love that raspy sort of thing she has going on with her voice.
Casey James: great voice, and I'm also a sucker for guitar players. It's a thing. I blame Billy Talent and his awful fake guitar playing ways. I just really dig how he sings the 'comin' daaaawn witha misury' line hehehehehe.
Oh American Idol, just when I think I'm out, you suck me back in.
Today's group episode was death though, they pretty much skipped over everyone I was interested in. The two groups that sang the Lady Gaga songs were gross with their bitchin' and divaness and no, no, you are not cool. Go away.
And House!! How much am I in love with House and Jesse Spencer lately?
This is Jesse Spencer. He plays Dr. Pritty Hairs on House, MD.
He also plays violin! Electric violin.
Elenore Rigby!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
He really likes to rock out on his electric fiddle, and 'sing' with a fake hillbilly accent! He also totally sang the wrong line, you can't see it from this angle but the lead singer (Desperate Housewives guy?) totally laughs at him.
Also, how flippin' cute is the Heroes dude with his bass guitar? He totally has a "I'm playing MOOSIC, I'm in a BAND :D" look on his face. Stupid adorable people, making my life hard.
It's the hat. The hat and his 'this is srs bsns' face that just make me think impure thoughts that Baba O'Riley has never incited in me before.
Chase sez: I'm going to eat your liver! ... here's your bawl.
I really enjoyed Monday's episode of House. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much - and maybe that did contribute to it - but I honestly liked it and it gave me some new perspective on the character. I think they've done Cuddy's character injustice in the past, and I was glad she got her moment to shine.
And all the Chase was a pleasant surprise! I really want to know more about the backstory between him in the chief surgeon who looks like a slightly bloatier version of Tim Robbins. First he didn't want Chase, then he's all made House stole Chase ("stole" as in - "you took him from me, he was MINE"), and then he wants to beat him up. Oh Chase, the passion you inspire.
Also, my House/Chase shippy heart squealed when Foreman told Cuddy House wanted Chase to do the surgery so he could show chief surgeon guy "Chase was his best surgeon". This means House thinks Chase was the best surgeon! He thinks Chase was the BEST, you guys! And he wants to SHOW CHASE OFF TO THE OTHER SMELLY DOCTORS. And Chase wanted to do it, and puff out his pretty pretty feathers!
