"To Become Prepared..." They Had Said.

Falling onto the extravagantly thick woolen quilts, Nikoleta hugged them against her body tightly as she buried her face in the luxury. The fibers, albeit soft and wispy, stung the freshly cleaned cuts that were scattered all over her body. She flinched, only holding the quilts tighter against her body. Her slight form curled into a natural fetal as she wished the world would disappear.

The past few weeks had been cruel to the Blood Knight. She had been undergoing a series of tests and more training, in the various climates of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms..

To become prepared, they had said.

Nikoleta seriously wondered, time and time again, if there would be snow, flash floods, sandstorms, ghouls and man-eating flora in the Outlands. She nearly died when the ground quaked open beneath her very feet at Un'goro. The only thing that saved her was her trusty ranseur as she reflexively heaved it into the side of the chasm as she fell. The heat that rose up from the depths below told her that, if she fell, she would be dissolved in an instant by lava. The Blood Knight never had to duel the land before, and learned to respect the earth for all its qualities.

Though that was not stopping her from hating the world too and wishing it into a cumbly bunch of pieces.

Nikoleta had never felt more lonely, never felt more frightened, never felt more despair, then after she had traveled through these lands. She longed for the Bay, and her dear friend Mariveaux. Nikoleta knew that Mariveaux needed her. She could sense it...
Nikoleta had longed for companionship, for anyone to talk to. She even felt the pressure of her own personal oath bearing down upon her as she thought about Lataal, wherever he was. Even when she thought about her other friends... Which the very realization of made her surprised and confused as new thoughts sprung from her heart... though it wouldn't matter anyway. She had sworn to herself to never let those feelings get in the way, ever again...

As she drifted off to sleep, in the barracks of the Enclave in Silvermoon, all those thoughts faded away.

Besides, she was safe now. Surely the bed she had laid herself down upon would not eat her.
