Mom's Here...Finally
Woke up before my alarm at 10:30 AM. Learned about yet another shooting from LJ. When will this stop?
Mom hasn't called yet, so she's getting a later start than she intended. She just called. Works for me because I'll have more time to get stuff done.
I'm lying down for a quick nap. Mimi was lying on my chest and now she's lying on my arm, purring very loudly.
Mimi and I heard a cat meowing loudly. Zara doesn't usually meow, much less loudly, but no one else is here. There is a cat who wanders around outside.
Had a nice nap. Slept longer than I intended.
Cleaned my bathroom. I was bouncing around the kitchen and singing "Mrs. Robinson". I love Pandora. Cleaned the kitchen counters. Scrubbed the hall leading to the TV room.
Had a bite to eat with Zara in my face. Sigh.
Mom has been calling periodically with updates. Right now, she's stuck in traffic and doesn't know when she'll get here. I just ran out for soda, and I'm going to cool off, and then get the garbage and clean out the refrigerator.
Took out the garbage and cleaned out the refrigerator. Washed some pots that had been in the refrigerator (and almost clogged my toilet throwing food out). Swept the kitchen floor. All I need to do is scrub the floor, and I'll do that tonight before I go to bed. (Mom and I usually go out when she gets here, and I don't want to get dirty.)
Mom got here at 9:30 PM, totally fried. She was in stop-and-go traffic for much of the trip. Her phone's battery died, so she wasn't able to call and give me an update. All's well that ends well.
We ran to Shake and Shake to grab a bite and stopped by Wal-Mart for Mom's groceries. Now she's gone to bed as I will do so shortly. So much for washing the floor, but I'm pooped.
