Cold, Wet, Tired

I had the meeting in Champaign-Urbana today. I didn't get up early enough to get to the DMV, but left in plenty of time to get to the meeting. The meeting was okay, not much to say about it. When I left the meeting, it was raining. The weather forecasters had predicted it, so I grabbed an umbrella on the way out this morning. When I was going out to my car, someone else was going out, and asked me if I was ready to run for it. I said that I had an umbrella, and he said, "Bah. You've got it easy," and he ran for it. But the damn prairie wind was blowing the rain almost sideways, so the umbrella didn't help that much.

I drove relatively slowly through the rain until I reached the rest stop. I stopped, and decided to close my eyes for a few minutes. Well, I was cold because it was 55 degrees F and I had been running cool air to keep the windows from fogging. I was damp from the rain. The wind was shaking the car. But I apparently was tired because I slept for an hour in the car. It helped. And the rain stopped while I was asleep. I just got home a little while ago. I made some chili (Hormel) for a chilly day. And I'm planning to take another nap.

Hey, I'm officially on vacation!
