Oh man...now what?
My dad told me to prepare for selling my condo because he's getting low on his emergency funds. I'll be eligible for unemployment payments in February again, which should help somewhat.
He told me to paint the condo, but I can't reach the vaulted ceilings in the living room and bedroom. I might be able to hire someone if I can charge the work on my Visa card. I also need to have the carpeting and a toilet replaced. If I can't charge the work, I'll have to sell the condo "as-is", and I might not make much of a profit.
I'm not sure where I'd move. I'd love to live in Portland, but I'm not sure what I'd do there. There are no Master's Degrees in Library Science in the local universities there. I could move to Detroit, where my mom is. It would be good having her around (and I could borrow her DVDs!) Wayne State University in Detroit has a good Library Science program. I'd rather live in Chicago, but it's more expensive and there aren't any Library Science programs there.
I also don't know what happens with my COBRA if I move to an area without Kaiser Permanente. (Portland has it.) I think my COBRA runs out in a few months anyway, and I'm not sure what I do in that case.
I'm sure that I'll sort this all out, but right now, I'm feeling kind of freaked. I don't really want to move yet again....
