I fed the girls, and Zara is roaming around here like a shark. She wants more food, but she's not getting it until the afternoon.
Pond guy keeps texting me about the check for their services. I'll text him after my meeting at Hantz this afternoon. (I agreed to have Hantz settle the estate.) Oh, I also had to go to the bank because I was having problems getting my new debit card activated. A very nice lady helped me and was on the phone for a long time to get it fixed up. She also told me to look for a key for my mom's safety deposit box, which could be anywhere, but I'll start with her purse.
Speaking of purses, I want to get a larger one so that I can put the Kindle Scribe in there. I found a nice Michael Kors
one. I'm not into designers, but it's nice and big and has a very nice design. I ordered it to be delivered on Sunday.
Uh-oh. I found a Pottery Barn
desk that I really like, and it has a keyboard tray. Expensive, of course. But given that I'm taking some of Mom's furniture, I might be able to swing it. Okay, here's
one that's cheaper and also has a keyboard tray.
I had a long talk with the chatty pond guy. He said that when I come back, he'd be willing to do a walkthrough of the house with me and make recommendations of people to help me. I also told him that the real estate agent said to paint the trim white, which he said would take a ton of coats to cover the green color and wouldn't suit the house anyway. He told me to get another real estate agent :) He also mentioned that I could rent the house out, which I hadn't considered. Which leads to the question, would I want to retire here? There's a lack of public transportation, which I really don't like, but I love the house and back yard. It would be lovely to get up in the morning and have tea in the gazebo by the waterfall. Travel would be easier from Chicago. I feel like I need more time to sit with all of this. Oh, he also said that I might need a fence for the back yard because of the pond. (It's kind of deep.) I need to do some research about it.
Memorial Health called me about the CPAP. Yeah, I need to set it up, but I've had a lot on my mind. I told them that my mom passed away, but they told me that I have 40 more days to "get into compliance". Sigh.
My voice lesson was excellent. She said that my voice was a little breathy, and she wants me to do exercises to strengthen my voice. Exactly what I'm looking for. She also asked me what singers I like due to their voice, which threw me because I'm more into lyrics than voices. So I have some research to do.
I started running around and putting green dots on stuff that I want to take. It'll help me figure out how much I'd need to move plus help me keep it down to an amount that will fit in the Urbana house. I'm trying to be judicious.
I need to spend the weekend getting organized for my trip and cleaning the kitchen. I think that I'll go to sleep now though after I pay some bills.
