Travel Day 1
I'm feeling a little dizzy this morning, but I really need to get to Michigan, so I'm going to lie down for a little while after breakfast.
Clothes packing was easy. I was able to get my suitcases, a box of computer stuff, and two out of three gym bags in the trunk of the car. Now I'm lying down a bit to let the cats calm down over the excitement of my suitcases.
Operation Cat-Nap went off well. Zara went for the bait of my turnover. Mimi ran but went into the bedroom, and I just had to wait until she ran into a corner. Mimi meowed for the first hour, and now she's meowing when we go over a bump or when she gets fed up. I think that I've heard the kitty equivalent of "Are we there yet?"
Because I got a late start, I'm thinking of stopping for the night in Dayton. I know where there's a pet-friendly hotel there. Getting the girls back in the carriers should be interesting, but there's no good place to hide. We've stopped for the night. Mimi is taking the strange place in stride and is cruising around the hotel room. Zara managed to find the smallest space that she could squeeze into. (Wish me luck getting her back into the carrier.) And I'm going to crash now.
