I did an at-home sleep study a couple of years ago because of my chronic insomnia. I wore a band around my forehead for three nights. Two nights were natural and one was with Ambien. I forgot to charge it before the third night so nothing much was recorded. It didn't tell me much. I'm not a deep sleeper. Oddly enough the sleep doctor didn't seem to think I had to worry too much. I am sleeping around 5 hours a night and that isn't bad. He doesn't think taking Ambien a few times a month is harmful. I have always been able to function despite my lack of sleep, so I guess he's right and I don't have to worry that much.

ARGH! Sleeping through an appointment is so annoying.

I use my phone alarm when I nap because I will sleep very soundly even when napping.
