Boiling Part 2
Mom woke me up this morning to order her an Uber. Then she wondered if she'd be able to get in the car because it was an SUV, but she managed.
I set up my fan and it helped a lot with the heat. Now it's getting so hot (106 F heat index) that it can't keep up, but the a/c guy is supposed to come this afternoon.
The a/c guy came around 4 PM. He fixed the a/c, and Zara, who had been MIA all day, promptly showed her furry face. Mimi camped out by an a/c vent. Oh, air conditioning, I love you so. For some reason, I feel worse now that the a/c is working. Maybe it's because I turned off the fan. Okay, now I'm starting to feel better. Apparently, I was more overheated than I thought. I think that I'm going to take it easy tonight and do things that don't require much motion. The cats seem fine now.
Tomorrow, it's supposed to be even hotter. And I need to run errands, but the a/c in my car is good.
Got laundry going. Watered the poor outdoor plants and brought in cat litter.
I got a new planner called the Clever Fox planner. It does a better job in helping you to set goals and turn them into current, actionable tasks than any other planner that I've seen. I want to spend time with it over the long weekend. (We get Friday off for Juneteenth.)
Zara just ran past me at a full gallop, so I guess that we're back in business :)
I was looking at a shopping site that takes payments with a payroll deduction. They have travel! They don't have the hotel that I liked in South Beach, but I found another one that has the all-important refrigerator and microwave. (It doesn't have a pool, but you can't have everything.) Then I looked at the flights, and they suck. Either I'd have to overnight in Chicago and catch a 7 AM (or earlier!) flight, get back at midnight and overnight in Chicago, or fly out of Miami at 7 AM. I'd have to decide which flights suck the least. I also looked at suitcases because mine are falling apart. At first, I looked at luggage sets, which are expensive. But then it occurred to me that I would be the only one using the suitcases, and I'd be taking only one at a time, so who cares if they match! I found a wine-colored hardside carry-on that I like. (A lot of them were pink! I don't want pink! But I do want one that will stand out.)
It just occurred to me that I forgot to soak a litter box, so I need to soak it overnight. I should start my nighttime tasks and have a nice, refreshing cool sleep. (Zara is lying near my bedroom window, looking completely relaxed and happy.)
