Snow

It's snowing here. No snow isn't right. It's pretty much a white out. But that's okay. I don't have to go anywhere today.
Last night, I cooked for the homeless of the county. I had been told to plan for 16 so I cooked and cooked. Only 7 stayed with us last night but they were hungry. Just about cleaned their plates of all I made. It did exhaust me. My little buddy Alex (he's four) ate so much he threw up. It seems cruel to make a four year wait until 7 to eat but the system isn't necessarily set up for children.
This morning I made it to the gym before the snow started. My walking buddy, also a serious and talented quilter, asked if I had any soft yellow for a scrap quilt. Soft yellows are hard to find but I burrowed into my collection when I got home and found the box containing the leftovers from my "Citrus" quilt (sound familiar Lizzycakes?) Not alot of soft yellow but pletny of bright yellows so I'll start cutting charms this afternoon. I also found a few pieces of blue.
You all know that I feel that it is important to be good at something and fabric acquistion is one of my skills. You know the old saying "She who dies with the most fabric wins." Waves graciously. That would be moi.
Well, I'm sleepy. I could close for eyes for a short nap. Of make another dress for the mission project. That sounds like fun too, playing with my new sewing machine. Or I could cut charms. Oh the possibilies of a day at home with snow falling outside.
It's Dave's birthday tomorrow. In this family, you don't have a birth "day" you have a weekend, or a week or even a month. So he gets to plan whatever we do this weekend. Sue has lots planned for his celebration including a brunch in Saginaw. Then he want to go and feed the birds in Kensington and then feed Daddy for supper. Yup, we'll hit most of the lower peninsula tomorrow. If the roads aren't too bad.
