I like this, it reminds me of a story a friend of mine once told me, about how he came out of a concert one night, saw a homeless guy in the gutter and gave him $5.00. A few weeks later, my friend was walking through a park in central Sydney, and two brutes tried to rob him, holding him by his jacket and visciously slurring 'give us your money'. Suddenly a huge dark figure came looming out of a shrub, and beat the brutes away. Yep, it was the homeless man, RECOGNISED my friend and saved him from being mugged.
It's a funny world.
I like this recent stuff of yours... it reads really well, and somehow I connect to it with more truth and strength than I did with other things I've read of yours. But then, that could be me growing, too.
