There are of course the obvious dangers
of making yourself sensitive. I don't mean
crying at the news, but enough
to feel the tumblers of what lies on the other side
of the room.

Its against the grain of our culture, becoming sensitive.
Its about being stronger here and here being stronger
means building armor, feeling less and less the slings
and arrows so you can get further down the line
without going mad or dead.

But what lies at the end of such maintenance?
I've yet to meet a good answer. There is of course
the obvious danger that I am a fool, sitting here
in a bar where sensitive is the last thing you need to be.
Going the wrong way in rush hour like this, funny,
but also a little quietly sad. In the end

I won't make it half way. That I know.
I often dream of a consolation prize.
