Yeah, this would actually be my first convention too, so I'm a wee bit nervous about it. But, it's really close and it's not that expensive. I had even asked for the Friday off from work for another reason (I'm currently waitlisted, but still hopeful I'm going to get it). Hmmm... yeah, I think I'll go. If it's really awful (or weird) I can drive home pretty quickly.

LHC episode on Radio 4? It sounds like I'm missing stuff and not a good fangirl (which is probably very true).

I'm going to my first ever sci-fi convention next month, and I'm a wee bit scared.

Do not quake in thy rollerboots. If a nervous kid like me can hack it and enjoy it, then a big brave uber-fannish lass like you will have no trouble whatsoever. Plus spacefall and I will take very good care of you!

Goforit, goforit, GOFURRIT!

That sounds fantastic. I predict you'll have a blast. XD

(I went to my first SF con 2 years ago, on a similar basis - "Ooh, Babylon 5 a few miles down the road!" - and had an absolute whale of a time. Folk were incredibly welcoming, and I can't see this being any different. Plus, the chance to be in a whole building of the like-minded and enthusiastically discuss the nitty-gritty of Torchwood, etc. without people's eyes glazing over is not to be sneezed at in the least. ;-)

So...are you going to put a costume together? ;-D

Well, I went ahead and bought the ticket today... so I'm going. Yikes!

Um... costume? Um...

What have I gotten myself into?

Thanks for the encouragement.
