Oh. Sweet and sad and touching and downright beautiful. Cry or smile? I decided to do the latter. Holmes' last paragraph states in a nutshell what anyone can only wish for. Very well done, twin. Applause

I'm glad I can make you smile, twin (and cry a little too). I was going for melancholy and hopeful, and I really hope I got it. Now you see why I couldn't stop writing this -- the story was basically telling itself, and they were both like, "Get to the end."

Holmes' last paragraph -- yes, I think that, despite my deep cyncism about love, I'm really just a hopeless romantic at heart. I refuse to accept that Holmes and Watson didn't have their happy ending. I think we all should, somehow.
